Chocolate orange squares (Kamut)

Kamut grains are used to make a healthy treat , these little squares provide high-protein.

  • ½ cup KAMUT
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • ½ cup of almonds
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • Zest of one orange

  1. Boil the Kamut grains as per instructions on the packet. Let the Kamut grains cool down for approx. 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Pour out the grains on a paper towel to dry off.
  2. Melt the chocolate in a water bath. Be careful not to get water in the chocolate.
  3. Toast the almonds in a dry pan and rough chop with a knife.
  4. Mix together the cayenne pepper, Kamut, almonds, orange zest, with the melted chocolate. Once it’s well mixed press it out onto a non-stick baking sheet to set. Leave to set.
  5. Note: You can speed up the process by putting the mixture in the fridge but make sure it’s not too hard to cut into pieces.
  6. Cut jagged pieces with a knife or break into pieces and enjoy.

Please note: Sadly Kamut grains contain gluten so they are not suitable for people with celiac disorder or wheat allergy.
